ESSENCE FEST 2024 | CENTER STAGE (Convention Center)

This experience was one I’ll never forget. One of my newest ventures has been learning more about the production world. As I continue to posture myself to always remain open to learning, this summer I’ve had the privilege to encounter one of the greatest teachers @omergealliances

Thank you @olivialove901fm for giving a girl like me a chance. Thank you for setting the tone and creating this space. Thank you for allowing me to create freely and for trusting me. Thank you for the opportunity to work with an INCREDIBLE TEAM. @malissaanne thank you for leading, getting me all the way together while encouraging me. Fredrick, thank you for being an amazing team player. Sidney, thank you for your poise and grace. To the production crew, we couldn’t have done it without you.

First time producing/owning a couple of segments and though it was very humbling and nowhere near easy, it’s also been so much fun and worth it.

With all of the emotions ranging from excitement, gratitude, humility and so much more, I will forever be grateful for the divine timing and alignment of it all.

Thank you God for the gifts making room in this season.

In honor of Black Maternal Health Week concluding on yesterday, I would like to share a flashback on this event. I hosted a Blessingway for a very special sister/friend. It was a sacred and intimate day with activities, prayers and plenty of tears.

My first introduction to the idea of a Blessingway/Mother’s Blessing during @earthmamanaturals doula course last summer.

I am looking forward to creating and being apart of more memorable and impactful events such as this. My hope is for us to support, share and really hold space for mothers as they embark on this new journey.

Thinking I fell off, whole time I’m loading up.

As creatives, we sometimes experience blockages that result in doubt, fear and a need for rest, reassurance and redirection.
